Spaghetti Milanese

Ingredients

  • half a pack of spaghetti
  • 1 onion
  • 1 carrot and a piece of celery
  • 1/2 pepper
  • 200 g mushrooms
  • 150 g ham
  • 300 ml tomato sauce
  • 150-200 ml water
  • 2-3 Tbsp sugar to taste
  • salt,pepper to taste
  • 2-3 Tsp basil
  • 2 Bay leaves

  • 2-3 Tbsp oil
  • 2 TBSP starch

Instructions

  • Chop the onion and cook in 2-3 tablespoons of hot oil. Then put the chopped pepper and leave for a few minutes.
  • The carrot and celery are grated on a large grater and placed over the onion and pepper.
  • The vegetables are left for at least 5 minutes together then tomato sauce is added. first add 50-70 ml of tomato sauce with water over vegetables, boil for about 15 minutes.
  • Add pepper, basil and bay. Put the mushrooms and only at the end, add the ham. It is also supplemented with hot water to dilute the sauce a little and not be too concentrated.
  • Do not forget the sugar to sweeten the sauce.
  • Finally add the starch ready to dissolve in cold water and mix well to thicken. Allow another minute to cook
  • Do not thicken it too hard, when it cools, it will bond even better and become denser.
  • The pasta should also be boiled, then rinsed with cold water and drained well.

Notes

They are served warm with plenty of sauce. The sauce is quite consistent with so many vegetables.  Enjoy it !
